We can help

Sometimes life just gets in the way of doing the things you want to do, like getting a degree or postsecondary credential.

If you left college – any college — before you could finish up your degree and you want to go back, the Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner can help you break down the barriers that exist between you and your education dream.

Our Rhode Island Reconnect program does just that – it reconnects students with colleges. If you want to complete your degree at the same college or university you started, or if you want to go to a different college now and need help transferring, changing a major, getting career counseling and more, we can help.

DROP-IN DAY

JUNE 27, 2022
1 p.m. — 7 p.m.

Providence Marriott
1 Orms Street, Providence

Come to this free event and hear about all the resources that are available to students who want to finish degrees. The list includes free and reduced tuition, gas cards, bus passes, childcare assistance, textbooks, laptops, phones, and much more. You tell us your barrier to getting back to college and RI Reconnect representatives will try to find a way to solve it. Free.

PLUS, you may be eligible for free, short-term, college-readiness courses that will refresh your skills in core subjects, such as math, science, reading and writing. These courses are designed to help students who are re-enrolling in college and can be taken at the same time as college coursework.

Representatives from Community College of Rhode Island, Rhode Island College, University of Rhode Island, New England Institute of Technology, Roger Williams University, College Unbound, Johnson & Wales University, and other schools will be on hand to meet with you 1:1, answer your questions, solve the problems they can right away, and get you enrolled. They too have incentives to help you get your degree.

This event is open to everyone but geared for adults who have earned 30 college credits but didn’t complete all the requirements for a degree. Don’t fret about the reasons why. Today is a new day.

A cap and gown looks good on everyone!

Come back to college with RI Reconnect.
